
The main objective of this
workshop is for the gathered experts in the field to brainstorm
for future development of technologies and applications of QCLs,
which will require ample time for discussions after each presentation.
Therefore, all the speakers should strictly adhere to the time limit
of presentations, that is, 15 minutes for scene setters and 10 minutes
for regular speakers. Unless it is absolutely necessary, speakers
are advised to skip the introduction and background information.
Instead, they should focus on the most recent and exciting results
in their own research and projections of future directions.
Audio/Visual
Equipment: Standard audio/visual equipment including
an overhead projector and a laser pointer will be available in the
meeting room. A computer equipped with windows XP and an LCD projector
will also be available for PowerPoint presentations.
To use the latter, please bring a USB pen-drive or a CD with your
PowerPoint presentation. No Zip disks or other storage media,
please. Also, be sure to bring a back-up of your presentation
on overhead transparencies. The speaker audio-visual
desk will be open on Tuesday September 5 th from 5 pm to
7 pm to upload and test your PowerPoint presentation.
