The Interconnect Problem

This seminar will cover the opportunities for optical interconnections inside the box, mainly in board-to-board, chip-to-chip and on-chip interconnects. To succeed in these power constrained environments, optics has to demonstrate high-energy efficiency and integration density. We will give examples of compeeting electrical solutions and establish baseline performance metrics needed for optical systems to succeed in this harsh environment.
