Buffer Gas Loading Rubidium BEC Atomic Waveguides Hydrogen-Lithium Buffer Gas Loading Theory In The CUA

Project > Rubidium BEC

Parametric Amplification of Scattered Atom Pairs (November 2005)

Goals

The Rubidium BEC was started in 2000 as part of the Center for Ultracold Atoms the goal of the lab was:
  • To develop intense sources of Bose-Einstein condensed rubidium atoms
  • Surface atom optics with coherent rubidium atoms
  • Many-Body Physics in Lower Dimensions
  • For more information see: Rubidium BEC Vision and Proposal

Features

  • High flux rubidium source
  • Laser cooling and evaporative cooling of rubidium
  • Transport of atoms with optical tweezers
  • Loading condensates into atom chips
  • Atom optics and atom interferometry

For more information see: Rubidium BEC Current Setup

Applications

  • Parametric Amplification in a 1D Optical Lattice Link
  • Photon Recoil Momentum in Dispersive Media Link
  • Raman Superradiance Link
  • Onset of Matter-Wave Amplification in a Superradiant BEC Link
  • Atom Optics with permanantly magnetized surfaces (Link Coming Soon)
