MIT Open House

After the introductory talk graduate students explained the principles behind temperature (using liquid nitrogen), atom and ion trapping (using a trap for charged particles), tornadoes (with the help of a tornado machine), and laser light through an activity station making holograms. This event was again a big success and very well attended. Graduate students enjoyed participating in this outreach and sharing their excitement for science.
