Biography:

Coming from a somewhat unusual background in nuclear structure and nuclear
astrophysics, I am now working as a postdoc in the group of
Prof. Eugene Demler at Harvard. Besides nuclear physics, I have previously
worked on tightly trapped cold atomic fermions where we have successfully
applied many-body techniques from nuclear physics. At Harvard I am working on
cold bosonic and fermionic gases in traps and lattices. We are trying to
identify interesting quantum states of these systems that could be relevant for
the properties of real materials such as high-temperature superconductors. A
particular project concerns the detection of exotic pair states in fermi gases
through so-called noise correlations, a coincidence measurement that can reveal
detailed information about the state of the gas in the trap.
