Aniruddh Sarkar received the B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees in Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India in 2002. In his masters thesis, he developed a novel scheme for high efficiency, selective electroporation of cells in a microsystem. He worked as a research associate in the same department before joining the Ph.D. program in EECS at MIT and the Micro/Nanofluidic BioMEMS group in 2006.
