Charles Herder is currently a member of the Quantum Nanostructures and Nanofabrication group, and an undergraduate student in the M.I.T. Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He plans to graduate with S.B. degrees in both electrical engineering and physics in 2009, and M.Eng in electrical engineering in 2010.

His previous research includes the construction an experimental apparatus for the characterization of superconducting films and
the investigation of quantum effects in ultrathin nanowires.

Currently, Charles is working on development of electronics for single photon detector technologies.
