Biographical Background
Professor Jin Au Kong is a principal investigator in the Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he directs the Center for Electromagnetic Theory and Applications (CETA). He received his bachelor's degree from Taiwan University in 1962, his master's degree from Taiwan's National Chiao Tung University in 1965. In 1968, he received his Ph.D in electromagnetic wave propogation and radiation in moving media. He joined the MIT faculty in electrical engineering and computer science in 1969.
Professor Kong is internationally recognized for his work in electromagnetic wave propogation, radiation, and scattering, and their applications in microwave remote sensing, geophysical exploration, and electromagnetic transmission and coupling in microelectronic integrated circuits. He continues to pursue his reserch interests in the area of electromagnetic wave theory and applications. He has published over 30 books including Electromagnetic Wave Theory, and over 600 refereed journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers.
