Biographical Background

Professor William T. Peake is a principal investigator in the Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He received the S.B, S.M., and Sc.D. in electrical engineering from MIT in 1951, 1953, and 1960 respectively. He joined the MIT faculty in 1959 in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Professor Peake's research focuses on signal processing and mechanical transduction in the middle ear. Currently, he is studying how structural variations in pathological human ears and the ears of various species affect acoustic signal transmission.
