Quantization in Acquisition and Computation Networks, Ph.D. thesis, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, MIT, 2013.
John joined STIR in 2007 and completed his Ph.D. with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 2013 on several topics in quantization theory. He received the best student paper award at IEEE Data Compression Conference in 2011, the Claude E. Shannon Research Assistantship in 2011-2012 and the inaugural EECS Paul L. Penfield Student Service Award in 2013. He graduated from Cornell University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering (summa cum laude with honors), and has interned at NVIDIA and IBM TJ Watson Research Center. John is currently a quantitative researcher at a hedge fund in NYC.
