The 2022 National Academy of Engineering Annual Meeting takes place Oct 1-3 in Washington, DC. The theme of this year’s event is Energy Transitions, with a goal of Net-zero emissions, members of NAE need to partner for the coming challenge and to find creative solutions for a clean energy transition.

This is the first in-person meeting of the NAE in two years. They are excited to induct new members from the Classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022 into the Academy! Professor Muriel Médard of MIT is thrilled to be welcomed to the Academy this Saturday, Oct. 1, at the New Member Dinner and at the formal induction on Sunday Oct. 2. NAE Chair Donald C. Winter will give opening remarks, followed by the President’s address and the separate induction of each class. On Monday Oct. 3, the third annual Special Lecture in Engineering and Science will take place with speaker John P. Holdren giving a talk on Meeting the Energy-Climate Challenge.

Prof. Médard will also take part in the Peer Committee Meetings, the Underrepresented Minorities NAE Business Meetings and lunch, The Big Picture: Program and Activity Expo, and the Women of NAE Meeting and Lunch.
