“Gathering of the Eagles” Texas A&M Event to have Prof. Muriel Médard Speak

On April 27th, Prof. Muriel Médard will be giving a presentation at the Gathering of the Eagles event, held by the Hagler Institute for Advanced Study and the Texas A&M Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Engineering. This presentation will take place at 9:30 AM at Texas A&M’s Kyle Field. The purpose of this event is to “bring together a group of thought leaders – i.e., stars of national academy stature in the areas of networks, autonomous systems, cyber-physical systems and similar areas – to present papers on their research to each other and to A&M interested faculty & students” and present an image of the future through their lens of research.

Professor Médard’s presentation will be titled “Modularity for Optimality,” and will discuss her breakthroughs in circuit design, specifically touching on the Guessing Random Additive Noise Decoding (GRAND) decoder. More information on the GRAND decoder can be found here.

This event is open to Texas A&M faculty and students, but will ultimately be more available to the public through a recording of the event presentations.
