Rachel S. Drake is a dually certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), & Society for Human Resources – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and has been working in Higher Education since 2006. She holds both Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Rachel also holds a Graduate Certificate in Strategic HR Management from Cornell University. While taking a year off to consider PhD options, she joined MIT in 2011 and fell in love with helping Faculty, PIs, and Scholars, solve their complex HR and Immigration needs and decided to stay.
Rachel utilizes insights from her background as a scholar and an administrator to better serve the RLE community. She is particularly passionate about community building within RLE and across campus. You can turn to her for guidance on Human Resources issues including but not limited to: interpretation of MIT policies and procedures, employment visas and immigration matters, employee hiring and on-boarding, employee development, rewards & recognition, and review cycles.
