RLE alumnus, J. Nicholas Laneman, Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame, was named a recipient of a Presidential Early Career Award (PECASE). The PECASE is the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on scientists and engineers beginning their independent careers. Professor Laneman’s widely cited doctoral work in RLE laid the foundations of “cooperative communication”, which has since become a particularly active field and is influencing the design and architecture of next-generation wireless infrastructure. «more»
