Melany C. Sponseller has been awarded the first David H. Staelin research assistantship for the fall semester of the 2013 academic year. Ms. Sponseller completed her B.S. in the Electrical Engineering department at Stanford University, and is currently finishing her M.S. in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. She will be pursuing a Ph.D. in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department at MIT beginning in the fall of 2013, and will be joining RLE Professor Vladimir Bulović’s Organic and Nanostructured Electronics Lab where she will conduct research on quantum-dot-based LED technology.
The David H. Staelin Fund honors Professor David H. Staelin whose career in RLE as a graduate student and professor spanned five decades. The purpose of this fund is to help recruit outstanding graduate students by providing support for first-year RLE research assistantship offers. The selection of students for such support is at the discretion of the RLE Director.
