RLE Team Awarded NSF National Quantum Virtual Laboratory Grant:
MIT, under the leadership of Professor Dirk Englund, is central to one of the four NSF-funded design teams developing the National Quantum Virtual Laboratory. The project is co-led by Englund together with MIT colleagues Vladan Vuletić, Paola Cappellaro, and Adrian Menssen, alongside a broad national collaboration that includes Dan Blumenthal (UC Santa Barbara); Mikhail Lukin, Kang-Kuen Ni, Susanne Yelin, and Giulia Semeghini (Harvard); Robin Côté (UMass Boston); Jake Taylor and Michael Gullans (University of Maryland); and Jason Cong and Hanrui Wang (UCLA). Their collective focus is advancing quantum information science and engineering (QISE) by pioneering developments in neutral-atom quantum platforms, with the goal of establishing a national roadmap for next-generation neutral-atom–based quantum technologies and building a robust, inclusive U.S. research community.
